Standard Specifications

Materials, Workmanship and Construction
All Materials used in the fabrication of our case goods will be new and the best grade obtainable of their respective types but in no instance a specification of less than 45# density board will be used. The method of construction, jointing, fitting, fastening and finishes will be of the highest standard that is applied in our industry and also made to conform with model and specifications, where required according to the customer's specification.

Tops (Reinforced for Heavy Load)
Tops will be manufactured of 3/4" thickness, minimum 45# density grade board. All case good tops will be protected in front and 2 side edges with 1" solid hardwood, high-pressure lamination is applied on top, the undersides and the back edges are sealed with backing sheet or lacquer to prevent moisture absorption under normal room environment. In addition, tops will house 1 1/2 inch cleat along the front of the case to add further strength against warping. Tops will be assembled to the side leg panels with wood dowel and steel brackets or cam and connecting bolts as deemed necessary to insure the case integrity.

Panel Legs
Panels legs of all case goods is manufactured of 3/4" minimum 45# density grade board, cover with plastic lamination or wood veneer to match top or contrasting finish, depending on customer's specifications, front edge will be protected with solid hardwood molding and the bottom and back edge sealed with lacquer or P.V.C. edge band.

Backs
Backs shall be 1/8" plywood or hardboard (Standard Black finish), or matching furniture finish as per customer's written request) fitting into the leg panels by way of dado. All backs are recessed adequately to accommodate electrical connection clearance and to allow the furniture to fit closely to the wall.

Drawer Face
3/4", 45# density board covered with lamination or wood veneer (depending of series) also some are offered with solid wood drawer front, must check with factory for availability and prices. Handles are standard with the choices offered in our catalog; if different hardware is desire, please check with the factory for availability. Drawer front ornaments are available (hand carved, etc) to complement your design. Check with factory for availability.

Drawer Box
Drawers will be a four-side construction, enabling replacement of drawer face in case of damaged or future change of design. The drawer sides are 1/2" thick and rabbet or wood dowel, to allow positive glue contact, then fastened to hold joint secure. Washable drawer bottom are dado and glued to the four drawer sides with larger drawer being reinforced with a 3" center piece from front to back. Each drawer is equipped with a 75# or greater baked enamel suspension that supports the drawer from the side and bottom simultaneously. Drawer glides will feature nylon roller bearing and positive stop feature. Drawer glides carry a lifetime warranty. Wood furniture drawers over 28" wide will have heavy duty metal full suspension with ball bearings (150lbs. capacity).

Mirrors
Distortion free plate glass mirror is standard; size is 24" x 36" plus frame. Outside dimension of mirror frame will vary according to series. Frame is usually solid hardwood.

Headboards: Laminate and Solid wood or Veneer and Solid wood
Wall hung style specifications vary depending on style of furniture selected. If a different headboard is desired from the one that comes with a series, please choose from the headboard options page (contact us). Heights: 24" -- 30" -- 36" Standard, 3/4", minimum 45# density industrial grade board, front face plastic laminated or wood veneer, back laminated with backing sheet or equal. Top and sides are solid hardwood molding frame around edges and finish to match lamination or wood veneer.

Legs
Legs for the Desks, Act. Tables, Luggage Benches, Cocktail and Corner Tables are 1 3/4" solid hardwood finish to match laminations. The legs for furniture are shipped knock down (K.D.).

Finish
All materials used in finishing will be of the highest grade of their respective kinds. MCI has gone to extensive efforts to provide a close match to the base finish of the lamination use in the furniture. MCI applies a base stain to the wood by hand to insure the natural beauty of wood grain species. The base stain is sealed, hand sanded, and then 2 other coats of lacquer are applied to ensure maximum wear resistance. Wood is a natural product; therefore it absorbs stain different ways. MCI will try its best to match the stain to the lamination

Transportation
All items shipped by M.C.I. will be properly cleaned, inspected, wrapped with vinyl and then wrapped in layers of disposable cushioned paper blanket. Any damage during transportation, regardless of being packed in cartons or blanket wrapped must be noted on the delivery ticket at the time of receiving of the furniture. The transportation company must be notified immediately in written.

Customer Responsibility
Customer must engage properly qualified personnel to receive and verify receipt of all items from the delivery Carrier shipped by MCI. It is the Customer's responsibility to store items with due regard for protection from the elements including Heat, Cold, Humidity, Fire and theft and damage following receipt. Case goods should not be kept in storage for a long period of time. MCI Group recommends that all TV units (including corner units and corner armoires), armoires, and wardrobe units be anchored to the wall.

7 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

M.C.I. Products will be free from manufacturing defect for a period of Seven (7) Years from the date invoiced. When used under normal conditions. The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is otherwise non-transferable. MCI's obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at our option, any defective or portion thereof. It is the end-user's responsibility to ship the defective furniture or part thereof for our evaluation. All furniture needs periodical maintenance at MCI. We recommend to powder-lubricate the drawer glides once a year. To clean the furniture we recommend using a damp rag (DO NOT use chemical products, as they may cause damage to the finish). Twice a year the solid wood and veneers should be treated with an oil base furniture product such as Pledge. Furniture should be kept in an climate-controlled environment; humidity is the worst enemy of any fine piece of furniture. This warranty does not apply to custom furniture where customer specified the method of construction and failed because of it.
